Friday 12th June 2015. The date was set only four weeks earlier to take a shell of a building and transform it into one of the most advanced opticians practices in the country.
We took our first bookings some two weeks prior to opening and this continued with a steady stream of bookings up to and including our opening day.
Many long days and late nights later, we were ready!
Many of our wonderful patients took advantage of our opening offers and with our delicious cupcakes, made by Jellytots & Dollymixtures, offered to customers and passers-by, the practice was buzzing with people throughout our first weekend. Oh, and we had a magician who was there to baffle and entertain the crowds too.
Lovely Bernadette was the first patient to experience our highly advanced eyecare consultations and the first to benefit from the retinal optomap, a super-wide field digital retinal imaging system, not available in ninety-nine percent of opticians. As our very first customer, we marked the occasion by presenting her with a lovely bouquet of flowers.
This is what she had to say after visiting our practice, “Hi. Thank so much. I left your practice today feeling so happy knowing that my eyes had been thoroughly checked and the icing on the cake getting some fantastic glasses too!”
We were open all weekend and many of our customers had the same wow experience. We even had patients from as far as Switzerland who left us some very kind words.
“As I said when I was with you, I haven’t such an interesting Sunday morning for a long time, going through certainly the most rigorous eye inspection I’ve ever had. You are all obviously passionate about giving the best eye care possible, is shown by the time you take to explain everything clearly and the investment you make in the having the best “kit” available.”
Our expectations for our opening weekend blew us away and the wonderful words that our customers left us with made all the hard work and late nights worthwhile.
